Princeton Lyman

A conversation with Princeton Lyman, former US ambassador to South Africa (1992-1995) and Nigeria (1986-1989). Here he is interviewed by Bruce Jentleson, professor of public policy and political science, on October 17, 2001, in Durham, North Carolina. They discuss the contradictions of US foreign policy and his career in the foreign service, most memorably his time as an ambassador to South Africa during the transition out of apartheid.
